Food handlers and their employers have a legal duty to manage food safely. These obligations are set out by several EU and UK laws. These laws state that food handlers must make sure that food which is prepared, cooked, served or sold, is safe for human consumption.
Failing to follow food safety standards can cause food to become contaminated with potentially fatal consequences
Training your employees with our online system will go a long way to giving them a greater awareness of the dangers that poor food safety standards pose, as well as how food safety risks arise and how to control and prevent them.
Our Level 1 Award in Food Safety is a great solution for new staff and can act as induction training into the basics of food safety. The course is suitable for employees with no prior food safety knowledge and for those handling low-risk or wrapped foods. The course does not cover food preparation so is generally suitable for waiting or check out staff as well as kitchen porter and back of house staff.
Split into four modules, our Level 1 Award provides an invaluable training resource for educating staff about the legislation and risk control of food safety. After each module there is a set of questions that needs to be answered with a passing mark of 75% before candidates can continue to the next module.
This is specific to those within the catering industry.
